The Department of Transport hosted the third annual National Sustainable Mobility Forum in May 2025, continuing its commitment under the National Sustainable Mobility Policy (SMP) to engage stakeholders in shaping Ireland’s transition to a more sustainable transport system.

This year’s Forum centred on the development of the next SMP Action Plan, which will guide sustainable mobility efforts from 2026 to 2030. Participants contributed to focused policy discussions on the themes of transport-oriented development, decarbonising urban transport networks, inclusive active travel infrastructure, public transport access, promoting shared transport modes, and data integration.

A report of the Forum was published on 9 September 2025 and can be found at National Sustainable Mobility Forum May 2025.
