Carrigaline Western Relief Road

Municipal District of Carrigaline, Ireland (2021)
The CWRR is a 750m urban relief road that runs parallel to Carrigaline's Main Street and includes a new double span bridge over the Ownable River. The scheme also includes a 1.5km dedicated cycle track, over 3kms of footpaths and finishes at Mill Road, a 700m urban road.

Reduce traffic congestion in Main Street; facilitate ongoing development of the town centre; provide active travel access to expanding town centre.

Solution

Provided enhanced active travel infrastructure, including footpaths and cycle paths, as well as provision for public transport.
