The project aims to create a 10-kilometer greenway along the shore of Lough Foyle, connecting the villages of Muff and Quigley's Point in County Donegal, Ireland. The greenway will provide a safe and scenic route for pedestrians, cyclists and wheelchair users.
Challenge

The main challenge of the project was to secure the land access and permissions from the private landowners along the proposed route, as well as to comply with the environmental and planning regulations

Solution

The project team engaged in extensive consultation and negotiation with the landowners, offering them fair compensation and benefits for their cooperation. The team also conducted a detailed environmental impact assessment and obtained the necessary planning approvals from the local authorities.
