Challenge / Goal

The challenge was to reduce the dependence on private cars and encourage more sustainable modes of transport, such as walking, cycling and public transport. The goal was to create a more attractive and vibrant city center that would benefit residents, visitors and businesses.

Solution

  - Introducing lower speed limits and traffic calming measures in the city center
 - Creating more pedestrian zones and widening footpaths on key streets
 - Installing more bike lanes and bike parking facilities
 - Improving public transport services and accessibility
 - Providing incentives and support for local businesses to adapt to the changes
 - Engaging with stakeholders and the public through consultations, surveys and campaigns
