Challenge
The main challenge was to improve the quality of life and mobility in the village, which was affected by high traffic volumes, narrow roads, lack of pedestrian and cycling facilities, poor lighting and drainage issues. The goal was to create a more sustainable and vibrant village that would support local development and tourism.
Solution
The solution was to design and implement a comprehensive scheme that would address the various needs and issues of the village, in consultation with the local community and stakeholders. The scheme aimed to balance the needs of different road users, enhance the public realm and heritage of the village, and provide better connectivity and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
