Challenge / Goal
Jens Willars, Customer Director Rejseplanen:
“Together with all the public transport authorities in Denmark, we wanted to increase mobility and make it easy to be on the move. Better mobility has three big outcomes: the citizens get a better quality of life, public transport usage increases and finally, society benefits from the increased mobility.”
Instead of planning and booking each individual section of a trip with separate apps from various transportation providers, Rejseplanen set out to combine the different mobility offers all over the country in just one app, making traveling much more intuitive and comfortable.
Solution
Based on our Mobility Marketplace, we integrated a wide variety of data and interfaces into Rejseplanen: In addition to buses and trains and even domestic flights throughout Denmark, app users have access to several providers of car and bike sharing services as well as on-demand transport (DRT) and private car pooling (nabogo). This ensures that, even in rural areas, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) becomes a reality, independent of private car ownership. All tickets can also be purchased via Rejseplanen.
