Challenge

To develop a greenway that connects rural communities across the border, promotes active travel and tourism, enhances the natural and built environment, and revitalises the historic Ulster Canal.

Solution

To use the existing route of the Ulster Canal and some disused railway lines as the basis for a greenway network that spans two jurisdictions and six counties. To collaborate with various stakeholders and funding bodies to secure resources and support for the project. To engage with local communities and businesses to ensure their involvement and benefit from the greenway.
