About us

County Westmeath is a county in central Ireland, in the province of Leinster and the Eastern and Midland Region. It has a population of 95,840 people and covers an area of 1,840 km2. It was formed in 1542 from the western part of the ancient Kingdom of Meath. Westmeath is also known for it's lakes.

Sustainable Mobility Focus: The county has implemented several projects to enhance sustainability and urbanism, such as the Smart Mullingar initiative, which involves installing smart lighting, smart parking, smart waste management and smart air quality monitoring systems in the town.
